Met Gala 2022: the best red carpet fashion
Check out all the best looks as the stars arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on Monday night.
At the exhibition’s pre-gala press event, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden delivered a keynote address at the Met, highlighting the “rich and deep” history of American design.
“It’s a story of innovation and ingenuity, rebellion and renewal,” she said. “It has often been written by those in the shadows, not recognized for their influence and artistry, but here at the Met their stories are told. Their voices rise and their work can shine.”
“I always look forward to seeing how designers interpret the theme with their own creativity, identity and flair, and I’m sure this year will be no exception,” Hilfiger said via email. “The Met Gala is about having an open mind and thinking outside the box.”
“Events embraced by industry insiders and the masses allow for maximum creativity,” she said over email, adding, “I hope guests bring out their most decadent yet playful looks. “
This story and photos will be updated throughout the night. Scroll down to see some of the best outfits from the event.
