GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Get your period ready and put your scale to sleep as the new Cade Museums exhibit is all about measurements.
The rules of measurement test the concepts of length, time, volume and weight, but the way you weigh, count and calculate is not the norm.
“It takes away what we consider to be cut and dry in measures like height and weight and shows kids and adults that there are different ways of thinking about it, for example I weigh 25 chickens,” said Kathyrn Rohlwing, Senior Marketing Coordinator.
Children ages zero to five and adults up to 92 can get lost in this interactive in-town exhibit from the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh.
“You can try your hand at measuring balls, observing balls and placing them in different slots,” Rohlwing said. “You can measure the amount of sand in different cups. You can see your height in pennies, water bottles, or spoons. You can also see how close you are to your Mississippi accounts. ”
